Join us for a week of Brain Yoga! This new series is brought to you by 5 master yoga teachers, each teaching a different style/tradition of yoga. We will hold this event in celebration of Mother's Day to honor and cherish all the women who've shaped our lives for the better. There is a modest registration fee of $40 for the entire week.
Every day we'll meet from 9 am PT / 12 pm ET for one hour. Each session will have modifications and be accessible to all.

ABOUT THE SESSIONS
Day 1: Chair Yoga Dance - This class synergizes the holistic healing work of the leaders in senior wellness arena. You’ll learn evidence-based techniques that fuse yoga, dance, and cognitive well-being, offering therapeutic tools to support body and brain health in aging populations.
Day 2: Chair Yoga for Joint Mobility: Pawanmuktasana Level 1 - Join us for a gentle and accessible chair yoga class designed especially for older adults and those with limited mobility. In this session, we will explore Pawanmuktasana Level 1, the joint-opening series—a foundational yoga practice that supports healthy movement, circulation, and flexibility in the joints. These simple, repetitive movements can be done seated and are beneficial for anyone seeking greater ease and comfort in their body.
Day 3: Body Positive Chair Slow Flow - a chair yoga class made for EVERY body! Body Positive Chair Slow Flow is all about moving in a way that feels right for you, from the comfort of a chair. Stretch, breathe, and flow with kindness, meeting yourself exactly where you are today.
Day 4: Yoga Nidra - an experiential session steeped in soothing practices that support downregulation. Explore various techniques that can be tucked into your day to tone your vagus nerve and communicate messages of ease to your parasympathetic nervous system.
Day 5: Yoga Designed for the Brain - Learn breathing techniques to energize, calm, focus, and practice various postures and how they may impact the brain.

What if I miss one session? No problem, join us for the following day.
Will this be recorded and can I watch it later? The recordings will be posted in the ARPF Academy. You may watch them at any time.
Is there a cost to participate? Yes, you will get all 5 sessions for $40! Thank you for supporting our programs.
I have bone and joint issues, are these classes safe for me? The classes are intended for all levels of mobility and ability, but you are the best judge of what you can and cannot do. Our priority is for you to be safe, but the classes are wide-ranging. You may adapt the positions to your needs, of course. However, the teacher is not able to comment on an individual, especially since not everyone will have their camera on.
It's really up to you to decide and then modify any possible exercise that is not safe for you to do. The exercises and yoga sets provided during the Brain Yoga Week and by Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation (ARPF) are for general education and outreach purposes only. We recommend you work with your healthcare provider first if you have a health condition or experience dizziness, shortness of breath or any other discomfort while or after exercising.
